Conclusion of the Five-Week Boot Camp on ‘Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence’ at Premier University

The closing ceremony of the five-week-long boot camp on ‘Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence’, organized by the IEEE Computer Society Premier University Student Branch Chapter, was held at Premier University.

The event took place on Thursday, 9 October 2025, with Professor S. M. Nasrul Qadir, Honorable Vice-Chancellor of Premier University, attending as the Chief Guest. In his speech, he stated that artificial intelligence and machine learning are playing a pivotal role in technological advancement in today’s world. He added that if students can master the practical application of these technologies, they will be able to take on leadership roles both nationally and globally. He also assured that the university will continue to encourage and support such initiatives.

The ceremony was presided over by Mohammad Saifuddin Munna, Counselor of the IEEE Premier University Student Branch. Syed Minhaj Hossain, Chairman of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), attended as the Special Guest. In his remarks, he said that such training programs provide students with hands-on learning opportunities and help them enhance their practical skills. He further mentioned that such initiatives are highly valuable for fostering technology-based research and innovation in the future.

Other special guests included Kingshuk Dhar, Advisor of the IEEE Computer Society; Abhishek Das, Advisor of the IEEE Premier University Student Branch; Tasin Hossain; Susmoy Barua, Secretary of the IEEE Premier University Student Branch; Md. Azmain, President of the Computer Society; and Sayed Ibne Saif, General Secretary.

The trainer for the final day of the boot camp was Sara Karim, Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science at the Asian University for Women (AUW). She conducted a hands-on session on building and analyzing machine learning models using real datasets.

A total of 50 students participated in the five-week boot camp. During the closing ceremony, the top three participants were awarded, and certificates were distributed among all participants.

The organizing committee stated that similar boot camps and training programs will continue to be arranged regularly to enhance students’ innovative abilities and technological competencies.
